Tyrannosaurus Rex
The thirteen meter long Tyrannosaurus Rex was a two legged predatory dinosaur. With its powerful head and nearly 20 centimeter long teeth, this dinosaur was an extremely impressive contemporary. If this powerful predatory dinosaur lost one of its dagger-like teeth, a new one would grow back within a matter of weeks.

Although the Tyrannosaurus Rex looked quite threatening, it could hardly use its front legs armed with just two claws since they did not even reach his mouth. Nearly seven meters tall and thirteen meters long, the Tyrannosaurus Rex was probably not a very skilled hunter, but rather a scavenger which probably fed on the leavings of other animals. It had more than fifty teeth measuring more than 15 centimeters in length which it used not for chewing but rather for tearing, since it swallowed its food in large chunks. To improve depth-perception when searching for food, the eyes of the Tyrannosaurus Rex were oriented toward the front such that the fields of vision of both eyes overlapped.

2 year old with a love of dinosaurs insists on carrying this one around with him – Schleich is top quality, recommended this brand over any other. Solid, highly detailed, and no color/paint chipping whatsoever (the three Schleich dinosaurs he owns go in the bath, outside, in the car, everywhere – not a ding).

Great Modeling Of This Ferocious Dino
The Schleich T-Rex is a meticulously modeled representation of this ferocious meat eater. The detail and texture is amazing. I wish this toy was around when I was a kid. The t-rex is well balanced having no problem standing on its 2 large feet when placed on flat surfaces. The t-rex is durably built easily taking the abuse from both my 2 1/2 year old and 1 year boys. Both my boys love playing with the t-rex and opening and closing the t-rex’s mouth. I was a little worried that the movable jaw wouldn’t hold up but it has. The t-rex is the perfect size. Even my 1 year old can easily pick up the dinosaur and walk around with it. The paint does come off though from wear and tear. It is most noticeable on the edges of the feet and the end of the tail.
My kids also have the Schleich triceratops and stegosaurus. The t-rex is proportionately accurate in size to the triceratops and stegosaurus. The Schleich t-rex is a great looking and solidly built dinosaur. The natural history museum gift shop in the city I live has both of the Papo t-rex’s. I like the modeling and coloring of the Schleich better than both of the Papo’s. I highly recommend this product for any dinosaur fan.
