Safari Ltd. Centurion of Rome Toy Figurine

Centurions held high positions in the Roman army and commanded the legionnaires. They were required to be able to read, have solid political connections, and be at least 30 years old. They needed to be strong and skilled with Roman weaponry, and be able to instill discipline in their troops. Roman soldiers could attain the rank of centurion in a number of ways, including elections, Senate appointments, or promitions from within the army’s ranks. Centurions led by example and were often positioned at the front of their legionnaires, fighting alongside them in battle.
